Overview

Collegio Emiliani is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Nervi, a residential district on the east side of Genoa. Overlooking the Nervi’s port, at the beginning of the enchanting promenade Anita Garibaldi, the Collegio Emiliani with his courtyard, the terrace with direct access to the see, the sport facilities and the Church is the ideal place to spend wonderful days in any season of the year.

Renowned educational centre in the city, in addition to the Emiliani Schools, from twenty years it also hosts a university residence for youngsters attending the faculty of Genoa.

This residence is offering single, double or triple ensuite rooms over looking the sea.

History

Built in 1500s overlooking the sea, Collegio Emiliani was for several centuries the convent of the Friars Minor of St. Francis of Paola. Abandoned just after the Napoleonic suppression in 1899, it was acquired by the Somaschi Fathers, a religious congregation dedicated to the education of boys, founded by St. Jerome Emiliani in the 1500s. From over a century the Collegio is home to the Emiliani Schools, secondary level, High School specialising in classical studies, one in scientific studies and another one in scientific and sport and studies. Next to the college there is the Church dedicated to St. Jerome Emiliani, which was rebuilt in the early 20th century.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is included in the price. The residence also features a central kitchen and a dining room where it is possible to enjoy lunches and dinners in a friendly atmosphere by simply buying the vouchers.

There is also a small kitchenette available, shared by all guests, for those who want to be independent cooking for themselves.

In the courtyard there is a bar area available 24-hrs with several vending machines with snacks and cold and cool drinks.

In the surrounding areas there are several bars, restaurants, pubs and pizza places.

Grounds & Gardens

The Collegio is located at the beginning of Nervi’s promenade, 15 minutes walking from Nervi’s Park, where the Roseto, a big green area close to the famous museums, is.

Other facilities

Free Internet Wi-Fi, several multimedia rooms, Laundromat, TV rooms and common rooms to socialize. Big and bright terrace with direct access to the sea. Emiliani Sport centre only 5 minutes by foot, featuring a football field with artificial turf and a tennis court.

Free internal car park available: all day and night during the summer, while during the school term is possible to park from 5:30pm to 7.30am.

Children up to 4 years old can sleep in parent's bed free of charge.

In addition to short or long hospitality periods, the Collegio also offers spiritual care by the Somaschi Fathers who run it.

Our stay in Collegio Emiliani was definately worth the money. We highly recommend it for travelers on a budget. Breakfast was included, the rooms are spacious (includes private bathroom) and the building itself is very nice. There is a large balcony facing the sea, where you can find a great spot for swimming. Genova Nervi is a great area for summer visits, as supposed to the busy Genova centrale.

Very clean spacious rooms however no access to laundry and WiFi due to the fact that it was difficult to find the concierge to ask advise which was not given at checkin. I would stay here again though parking is difficu:lt to find onthe local area between 7 am and 5.30 pm

Mancava sapone e schiampoo x doccia. Mancava il tappetino x uscire dalla doccia. In complesso siamo stati bene in una stanza molto panoramica. Contiamo a breve di ripetere il soggiorno.

Directions: The Collegio Emiliani is served by bus n.15 and n.17, which takes you to the city centre. It is in between Genoa Quinto Train Station and Genoa Nervi Train Station, both reachable in 15 minutes walking and which feature urban trains, that connect everywhere in the city, and regional trains direct to Tigullio Gulf and Cinque Terre.

From Genoa Airport: The residence is reachable in 30 minutes by car, or taking the bus “Volabus” which brings to Brignole Train Station. From there, you can take a train or a bus to Nervi.

Please note that tourists visiting the city of Genoa will be requested to pay a Tourist Tax of €1.50 per person per night, for a maximum of 8 consecutive nights. This tax is not included in the price of the room and must be paid directly at reception upon arrival.
