History

The decorative frieze paintings around the upper part of the lobby were executed by Sir Norman Little. They depict scenes from the Spanish Armada. It is understood that some of the wood in the lobby panelling is actually recovered timber from Spanish ships involved in this battle. Another feature is the wooden panel in the Beaufort room, which is believed to date back to the 1600s. In the bar there is a particularly fine set of old gothic panels made from ships lockers. The frieze over the mantelpiece features some fine carving, which frames a medieval Spanish painting, produced on leather canvas.

All of the original Fireplaces and wood carvings are still a main feature at The Manor and the refurbishment has complemented the character and period features.

The AA Rosette Cavendish Restaurant and Terrace Bar are perfect for enjoying a fine dining experience, where imaginative dishes are complemented by an extensive selection of wines.

The relaxed LA Bar enjoys panoramic views of London and the beautiful hotel gardens, creating an enjoyable atmosphere in which to unwind.
