History

The hostal Pizzaro is located in one of the very few modernist buildings in Madrid. It used to be the headquarters of various famous spanish newspapers such as `Hoy' and `el correo'
Its facade is the work of architect Mauricio Jalvo Millán. Decorated with neo-gothic elements, its composition is essentially modernist. Note the column that supports and divides the balcony, which seems to lose its function of support to become a branch to climb up the winding stairs.

Food & beverage

The hostal has a communal area where one can buy a coffee from the vending machine at the cost of 1 euro. Similarly, infusions are free. A full set of cooking equipment is available for those who wish to have breakfast, lunch and/or dinner in the hostel. Located about two minutes away you will be able to find a variety of supermarkets, cake shops, bars and restaurants. 

Grounds & Gardens

At only 2 stops on the metro you will find two of Spain's most famous parks `La Casa de Campo' and 'Madrid Rio' . They have extensive grounds which you can seen by walking, cycling or even doing some exercise. 

Other facilities

As well as its central setting, this gay-friendly property offers a lounge with Wi-Fi access and satellite TV, which also serves as a venue to meet other travellers. In the surrounding area you will find shops, bars and clubs to suit any taste, as well as cultural offerings including some of the world’s most prestigious galleries (Reina Sofia, Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza).
