Kings Weston House is a Grade 1 listed Georgian mansion house, set in 28 acres of parkland. It was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh for Edward Southwell in 1710. The Georgian mansion replaced a Tudor house which once stood on this sight.
Kings Weston House was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh for Edward Southwell I circa 1710. The Manor of Kings Weston was once part of the Berkeley Estate, which was granted to Robert Fitzharding by Henry II. With the outbreak of the Second World War, building work was abandoned and the House was occupied by the military. In 1995 it was left neglected and desolate. Then the House, Gate House and five acres of grounds were bought privately in the late 1990's and refurbished.
The vaulted Tea Shop serves a range of food and drink and is licensed. It is open every day of the year 9.30am to 4pm.
Opening Times: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm Saturday–Sunday, 9.30am–5pm. The house is not guaranteed to be open due to private functions that occur and is not open on Christmas Day. Admission prices apply.
