Ty Coed De B&B, Pembrokeshire

History

Ty Coed De is built on the site of an old cottage that at one time belonged to a large estate, The Stancombe Estate, which belongs to the National Trust. During the 19th century the cottage was used as a public house known as The Colliers Arms (there were several coal mines in the area during this time). The old cottage was knocked down in the 1970's and the present building was built. Since then it has been a bed and breakfast.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is included in the price and served between 8.00 and 9.30am. Guests can start their breakfast with a choice of cereals, fruit juice, fresh fruit, or porridge.  A full Pembrokeshire breakfast, or Vegetarian breakfast is available. Free range eggs (poached, scrambled or boiled), smoked haddock, kipper fillets, roasted tomatoes on toast, all feature on the extensive menu. Produce is sourced locally whenever possible. The tomatoes are grown in the green house during the summer, the bread is baked on the premises and the preserves are homemade from fruit grown in the orchard or fruit garden or from the hedgerows nearby.

There is a pub within a short walk, serving lunches, evening meals and real ales. In the village of Solva, a short drive away, there are several pubs and restaurants serving good food and drinks.

Grounds & Gardens

Ty Coed De is set in landscaped gardens which can be used by guests. There are tables and chairs on the patio overlooking the pond which contains fish and wildlife. A variety of wildlife visit the garden during different times of the year.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises. There is a sitting room with a television and a library for guests use with views of the sea and farmland. There is a car park for up to 5 cars on-site.
