Ascott Hotel, Eccles, Near Manchester

History

The house was built in 1850 for a cloth manufacturer who had a factory in Manchester, this was documented in Manchester Kelly's Directory and where the professional classes lived, commuting into Manchester, a short 30 minute horse-driven cab ride, or alternatively using the world's first railway link of the Manchester to Liverpool line (1830), where Eccles was one of the first stations and home to the Mayor.

Over the years the building has served as a preparatory school in the early twentieth century and a music school run by a Professor Rodgers and his daughters until the early 1930's.

All guests have a choice of full English, Continental or a breakfast to go if they need to leave early.

Superior Rooms Breakfast:

A full breakfast menu is available 7 days, Monday to Friday 7.00am to 8.30am, and weekends and Bank Holidays 8.30am to 9.30ama week for Superior Room occupants.

Standard Rooms Breakfast:

Light style breakfast is available for Standard Room occupants Monday to Friday 7.00am to 8.30am. Standard Room occupants can also choose from the breakfast room service menu at weekends. Available breakfast room service options include bacon sandwich, sausage sandwich or a fried egg toasted sandwich with juice, tea or coffee supplied in the room.

Within the local area, there are many restaurants within walking distance offering a variety of cuisines.

All guests are free to use the patio garden during the summer months.

The hotel has a large period style guest lounge that is open from 7.15am until 10.pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 10.pm Saturday and Sunday, where tea, coffee and biscuits are available on request.
