Beechfield House Hotel, Beanacre

History

Beechfield was built in 1878 for a local gentleman farmer named Richard Keevil, whose initials are carved in the pediment over the bay window on the left. It remained an impressive Victorian family home for the next ninety years until it was converted into a hotel in the late 1970s with the word “House” added to its name.

In June of 2006, Beechfield House was purchased by its current owners and the new team began a major programme of refurbishments and improvements which lead to the hotel being awarded AA 4 star (84%), 1 Rosette in February 2014. All bedrooms and bathrooms have been upgraded, the roofs have been completely renewed. The downstairs has all be updated and refurbished. The gardens continue to be improved and the kitchen garden is being reclaimed and used to grow fresh produce for the hotel kitchens.

Breakfast is served Monday - Friday between 7.00am and 9.30am and from 8.00am until 10.00am at weekends and bank holidays.

Guests may dine in the hotel's restaurant whether it's for a candlelit dinner, a snack by the swimming pool or a Wiltshire afternoon tea. Many of the vegetables and salads are homegrown, and other produce, including meat and poultry, is sourced from nearby farms in Wiltshire and Somerset with strict animal welfare policies. Families are particularly welcome at the hotel and children have their own healthy menu to choose from.

Guests may also relax with a drink in the bar area.

Grounds & Gardens

The hotel has a small arboretum of rare trees and beautiful grounds to wander or sit in. Guests young and old take advantage of the outdoor swimming pool which is heated to a warm 85oC from March to October.

Other facilities

All rooms have pure Egyptian cotton sheets and Egyptian cotton towels. All rooms are ensuite, have digital widescreen LCD TV, a hairdryer, complimentary toiletries in the bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities.

Free Superfast dedicated Fibre Broadband WI-Fi is available throughout the hotel, terrace and walled garden.

The hotel offers a range of Pure Fiji beauty treatments including massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, manicures, pedicures and waxing, and a range of body envelopments and skin care treatments to enjoy.
