Overview

Built in 1902, Coniston Guest House is a Victorian house, carefully refurbished and located in the residential area of Hillsborough, a 10-minute drive from Sheffield city centre, providing a surprisingly quiet and relaxing retreat although very close to all amenities.

The hotel has a car park providing off road parking for guests and has convenient access to local public transport, with both the supertram and regular bus services from Hillsborough Interchange. Local leisure facilities include Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Sheffield Wednesday Football Stadium, Owlerton Stadium and Sheffield Ski Village all minutes away or just a bit further you can find Meadowhall Shopping Mall, Don Valley Stadium, Ice Sheffield, Sheffield Institute of Sport and the Hallam FM Arena.

Within walking distance are the Rivelin and Loxley Valleys providing blissful riverside walks and beautiful scenery and just a 10 minute drive away is Bradfield, a typical English village with a cricket pitch, duck-pond, church on the hill and breath-taking views.

Second visit.Equally hospitable and user friendly as the first.Keys to house and room so that you can access round the clock.Flexible times for a fine cooked breakfast. Large room,clean bathroom -all working powerful shower,hot water. Even the TV in the room works with multi channel options. Very friendly owner,Debbie. All round,excellent value. I would stay again and can recommend to anyone.

Directions: From M1 at Junction 36, take the Sheffield North exit. Follow the A61 to Sheffield for approximately three miles which takes you into Hillsborough. When you see the Sheffield Wednesday football ground on your right get into the right-hand lane. There is a leisure centre on the left after which you will see the Owlerton Dog Track. Turn right at the next set of lights (A6101- Bradfield Road) towards Loxley and Stannington. At the next set of traffic lights go straight on (Holme Lane). Beechwood Road is the third road on the right and Coniston Guest House is the last property on the right-hand side at the top of the hill.

Nearest Railway Station: Sheffield, 10 minutes by taxi.
