Safestay Hostel, Elephant & Castle

History

Safestay at Elephant & Castle is based in John Smith House, which dates back to the early 1900s. More recently, the building was the Labour Party headquarters – and the backdrop to many election time news reports as people hurried to and from stormy political meetings.

Food & beverage

A continental breakfast is available in the breakfast room from 7.00am until 9.30am for an additional charge (£4.00).

There is also a bar in the hostel which offers a small menu and vending machines are available 24 hours.

Many cafes and restaurants can be found within walking distance of the hostel. 

Grounds & Gardens

The hostel as an outside garden which will be lit up in the evening.

Other facilities

TV and complimentary tea and coffee in the private twin rooms. Library and chill-out room. Hairdryers for rent. Early arrivals may use the storage lockers until check-in as well as the safety boxes. Facilities are available for printing and faxing and also a public telephone. No curfew and electronic keycard access. Secure bicycle storage.
