Introduction to Bath

The Roman spa town of Aquae Sulis was the base for this city that was granted Royal Charter by Elizabeth I. The spa and healing qualities of the springs there also made it popular during the Georgian era and continue to attract visitors today. This was the reason behind the construction of the exemplary Georgian architecture that have made this city a World heritage Site attraction and a place to visit for 3.8 million visitors a year.

Historic places to visit in Bath

Although Bath has an interesting history which has continued from Roman times to today, the major attractions to visitors are those that were built in the fashionable Georgian era. It was during this time that Bath's Theatre Royal was built, as well as architectural developments that define the city such as Lansdown Crescent, the Royal Crescent, The Circus and Pulteney Bridge. In the very central parts there are the Abbey and the Roman baths to visit, whilst the Royal Victoria Park is always an attraction on a hot day.

The student rooms were very comfortable. The TV didn't work but once used to the lovely quiet location, we spent a relaxing evening/night there. Breakfast was served in the Olympic Sports Stadium, the food was fresh and good value and it was fascinating to see all the activity on the way!

I was doing a recce for others who will need to find basic, no-frills accommodation for a few days (the moment has passed but I have reported with good feedback) Very satisfied with the service although I had enormous trouble on the first day finding the reception, working out where to park etc. Would have appreciated instructions and a map with the booking.

Great place to say and easy to get to on the bus. Should make it clealer onwebiste the bus numbers and was disappointed that there werern't even any cups to make a cup of tea - we'd bought our own tea bags! Other than that it was very good, thank you

Excellent overall, would however give better directions once you arrive on campus - took us a long time to find the Accommodation block (Woodland Court) and the map was not detailed enough for someone who hadn't been there before. Bus service was also excellent.

We were never able to get onto the internet while there :( Couldn't figure out the process, so we thankfully had 4g on the phones, but could not use our computer. Would like to have some mugs in the kitchen for coffee. When it said coffee was available, we assumed there would be cups to put it in!

Got the door key from the accommodation centre but someone has already occupied the room (D1.11). A bit confused with the electronic room allocation system. Little embrassed as there was a lady opened the door while I used the room key to open her door successfully. Other than this, all is well.

(Review Of The Quads, Bath)

Although the room was clean, it had no towels or toiletries included. The communal kitchen in the block was very untidy and dirty with dirty crockery and left overs.

the second time i have stayed here.a mile or so from centre of Bath but frequent bus service to and from campus or about £8 by taxi.only drawbacks for me was checkout is too early and no bench outside to sit and have a coffee, beer or smoke on a nice day.otherwise a nice, clean place to stay.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the uni cafe was very good value. Parking was plentiful and reasonably priced. A bar open in the evening would have been welcome.
