Cottage in the Wood B&B, Braithwaite

Geschichte

A former 17th century coaching inn, The Cottage in the Wood was also utilised as a small isolation hospital for sailors from the West Coast ports during the 19th and early 20th century.

The property became a guest house after the Second World War and was finally purchased by Liam and Kath in 2002.

At The Cottage in the Wood our philosophy towards our food is to use the best possible produce we can and to combine seasonal ingredients to create simple and appealing meals. The starting point is our suppliers who are knowledgeable and have long established links with farmers and growers. They regularly come up with something special for us to use in the kitchen.

The elegant, light-and-airy award winning restaurant offers a daily-changing menu utilising the best seasonal ingredients from local farmers. The modern British cooking is underpinned with European influences.

Guests have access to a cosy sitting room where they can relax with walking magazines, books and games. The sitting room also provides an area of unlimited complimentary WIFI internet access.

There is limited disabled access within the restaurant and one of the ground floor rooms.

Children are welcome in the restaurant for lunch and afternoon tea.
