International House, St Lucia, Brisbane

Geschichte

IH Brisbane was the vision of Rotarian Bert Martin who in 1955 started his journey providing accommodation for International and Australian Students. Ten years later, with land deeded in trust by the University of Queensland, he had completed the construction of a few buildings and 50 residents moved in. Today there are 240 post and undergraduate students from 40 nations. There are 7 Houses in Australia - Melbourne, Sydney, Woolongong, New South Wales, Darwin, Townsville and Brisbane, all operating as not for profit organisations.

Essen & Getränke

Guests are most welcome to make use of the fully equipped kitchenette located on the 2nd floor of your tower. It is requested that common areas and kitchenettes are kept clean and tidy.

If you need to buy groceries, there is a FoodWorks (supermarkets), Bakery and various Cafés and Restaurants on Hawken Drive, approximately 15 minutes walk from International House.

International House Brisbane is located in a beautiful sub-tropical garden setting, with a variety of species. The flowers, plants and lawned areas are a welcome and relaxing escape from city life.

There is a fully equipped laundry for the use of guests. Each block has a communal kitchen with cooking facilities.

Wi-Fi is available and data quota must be purchased from the main admistration office. 

There are a number of seating areas in the grounds and gardens, where guests can relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Parking is available via the Glass House Road rear entrance.
