Parliament Barn is a Grade II listed building that has stood at the heart of the Herefordshire village of Winforton since 1625. Legend has it that Cromwell stabled his horses in the barn before setting off to lead his Parliamentary army to victory in the Battle.
Winforton is on the River Wye. This most famous of English salmon rivers, the Wye is a Mecca for fly fishermen and carves its way through the stunning beauty of mid-Wales and The Marches to reach the River Severn, 153 miles downstream.
The Wye Valley has beckoned visitors to its picturesque beauty since the late 18th century, and Parliament Barn is the ideal base for exploring the Brecon Beacons, the historic cities of Worcester and Hereford – each with a world-famous cathedral almost 1,000 years old and Hay-on-Wye, celebrated for its literary festival, and for excellent pubs and restaurants.
