Summary

This semi-detached Victorian family house is situated on a hill overlooking Telegraph Hill Park, in South East London.

Introduction

A Victorian family house overlooking Telegraph Hill Park, the first landscaped park of its kind in South East London with 100 year-old oaks and other fine trees. At night, there is a stupendous view of twinkling London lights. The house is very welcoming, filled with fresh flowers and orchids, batik and other paintings and beautiful furniture.

The elegant bedrooms have been specially designed with comfort in mind. They are luxurious, elegantly furnished and the comfortable beds are made up with crisp, starched linen. A television set, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water, both still and sparkling are offered to our guests. Luxurious bath sheets, the best soaps and a hair dryer are also on offer in our sparkling bathrooms.

The dining room is quite special and it has been successfully used as a small meeting room for business guests. Capacity for 12 persons. We can also cater for private dinners by prior arrangement.

Please note that this is a non-smoking household.

Food and Drinks

A full English breakfast is offered to those who wish it. In addition, orange juice a selection of cereals, bread and exotic fruit and freshly made coffee and tea. Also on offer is Kuching ‘laksa’ which is a curried soup with rice vermicelli noodles, bean sprouts, prawns and shredded omelette. Notice for this oriental breakfast is required at the time of booking.

Grounds and gardens

The French windows from the dining room open onto a mature garden, designed and laid out by David's late father, Tim, a great gardener, over 30 years ago. It has two majestic Magnolia Grandiflora producing white saucer-like flowers from June to November, a catalpa with delicate white flambeaux in July and a 25 foot Bay tree. There are also vibrant camellias. There is a patio with table and chairs for sitting out in summer, surrounded by containers holding a wealth of flowers, spring bulbs and lilies. A lure for garden lovers.

113 Pepys Road was a comfortable 'home from home'. Pleasantly situated in a quiet street overlooking a park and with easy access to public transport and central London
Mr Adrian A

very warm and friendly service!
Miss YING X

Friendly and welcoming B&B. Clean, warm and quiet. Comfortable beds. Nice breakfast. Quite easy to get into London via train and tube. A stand up in shower rather than a shower attached to the bath taps would have been better but the bathroom was clean and private so that was good.
Mrs Ann C

The host family is very friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to leave our bags at the house after check-out and return later to pick our bags up. I definitely recommend this clean bed and breakfast.
Mrs Lisa G

Great host! Very supportive to get you whatever you need. Enjoyable visit.
