Overview

Quest University Canada's Riverside residence offers condo-style living for up to 6 guests a short drive from many of Squamish's world-class outdoor recreation opportunities. Quest's campus offers sweeping views of the Tantalus range and direct access to hiking and mountain biking trails in Garibaldi Provincial Park, as well as a dining hall open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The campus is located a short (10-15 minute) drive from popular destinations such as Shannon Falls, the Stawamus Chief, and the Squamish river, and about 40 minutes south of Whistler's skiing and dining options. About 1 hour to the south, Vancouver offers all the amenities of a large city, including a range of shopping, shows, and dining options.

Built in 2007, Riverside offers modern accommodations with three private bedrooms as well as one hall bathroom and one private bathroom in the master bedroom. Each condo features an open-plan full kitchen, dining, and living area as well as a large balcony. Washers and dryers are available in each unit free of charge.

History

Quest University is Canada's first independent, not-for-profit, non-secular private university. Founded in 2002 and opening in 2007 with 73 students, Quest now offers seminar-style classes to a full-time student body of 700 students from 43 countries. The university considers itself fortunate to operate on the ancestral lands of the Squamish Nation, whose influence on the region can be seen throughout Squamish.

Quest consistently ranks among the top universities in Canada in the National Survey of Student Engagement for its block-based teaching model and self-directed academic environment. More information about the university is available on its website.

Food & beverage

Quest University Canada has an on-campus dining hall open from 7:30am to 10:00pm, 7 days a week. The dining hall offers a variety of hot meals, pastries, snacks, and beverages throughout the day. North Village also has vending machines located in its lobby area and available 24 hours a day.

Within 5 to 15 minutes driving, Squamish offers a number of breweries and restaurants suitable for all budgets and tastes, many of which offer outdoor seating in the summer. For fine-dining and more adventurous options, Vancouver and Whistler both offer renowned restaurants and bars about 40 to 60 minutes away via the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway.

Grounds & Gardens

Quest's campus offers views of the Tantalus range to the west and the Britannia Range and Stawamus Chief to the south, making for picturesque walks throughout the campus. There is a small park located just below the University Heights development on University Blvd (just before crossing the bridge when leaving campus), as well as a playground area located at Jura Park 5-10 minutes from the campus on foot.

Numerous hiking and biking trails for all ability levels leave from the campus. Feel free to ask the Conference Services staff or front desk for recommendations!

Other facilities

Quest's campus has free WiFi available to guests in and around all of the residences and buildings on campus. Guests are provided with access information at check-in.

Campus facilities such as the recreation centre are reserved for student use throughout the year.

Quest University Canada is located approximately 90 minutes from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Pacific Central Station for those arriving to Vancouver by bus or train. There are a number of bus companies, including Greyhound and Pacific Coach, which provide service to downtown Squamish. Howe Sound Taxi can be used to reach campus from any of the bus stations. Additionally, BC Transit provides several local bus routes that offer intermittent service up to Quest's campus.

By car, Quest can be reached by heading north on the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99) from Vancouver. The campus is located about 10 minutes north of downtown Squamish and can be reached by turning left on Mamquam Rd. just before Canadian Tire in Garibaldi Plaza.

From there, turn left on Highlands Way and follow the road up a large hill. Turn right onto The Boulevard and follow the road over a high bridge to reach Quest's campus. Check-in is typically at the Library building, which can be reached by continuing straight through the first roundabout and following the road to the top of the hill. The Riverside residence building can be reached by following Helfand Way past the recreation centre until it dead-ends into Mamquam Rd., and then turning right. Riverside is then the first building on the left.

Bus service to Whistler is available from the Greyhound Station as well as from downtown Squamish.
