Arundel House Hotel, Cambridge

History

Arundel House Hotel was first opened in 1971 in the end house of the terrace (No 61) with just 12 bedrooms, a residents' lounge, a small dining room and bar, with what was a very modest kitchen.

Small though it was in those early days, the Hotel proved to be a great success and a year later work began to convert two other houses further along the terrace, Nos 53 and 55.

At the beginning of the 1980s, focus shifted to expanding the rear of the hotel, when in 1981 one half of the timber-framed building behind the Hotel was purchased and converted into what is now the Coach House. This was followed in 1984 with the acquisition of another house, No 51, the other half of the Coach House in 1987 and two more houses in the terrace (Nos 49 and 47) in 1993.

The ninth and last house in the terrace was bought in 2004, and the Arundel House Hotel now incorporates the complete terrace, having come a long way from its 1970s beginnings.

Food & beverage

A bright and airy restaurant serves a modern European menu, while the Conservatory Brasserie offers light lunches and afternoon teas. Hearty cooked breakfasts are also available daily.

The Hotel is just a short walk from the heart of Cambridge where a wealth of bars and restaurants can be found. 

Grounds & Gardens

The Arundel House Hotel is only a short walk across the park, known as Jesus Green, and also has a lovely terrace for guests to enjoy.
