Church Lodge is a beautiful 3 bed historical building built in 1887 and was designed by the famous architect John Douglas and was previously owned by the Duke of Westminster.
Recently refurbished to the highest standard this beautiful holiday home is located in Handbridge within a 4 minute walk of Chester City Centre, the city walls and the River Dee. The house was completely renovated in 2018 with new furniture, a modern bathroom (which has a roll top bath and rain-forest shower) and modern kitchen which includes dishwasher, coffee machine and breakfast bar.
There is a Victorian fireplace in the lounge if you’d like to snuggle up after a day’s sightseeing and a roll-top bath if you’d like to relax after a day on your feet. There is also a rain forest shower.
Located within the grounds of St Mary's Church also known as the ( Church of St Mary-without -the-walls) and overlooking the Church building and gardens.
This historic Grade 2 listed building is situated a very short walk from the city centre . Within a two minute walk you will have walked over the River Dee and into the Historic city of Chester.
Chester is a city founded as a Roman fortress in the 1st century A.D. It's known for its extensive Roman walls made of local red sandstone. In the old city, the Rows is a shopping district distinguished by 2-level covered arcades and Tudor-style half-timber buildings. A Roman amphitheater, with ongoing excavations, lies just outside the old city's walls along with the oldest racecourse in Britain. Chester zoo is just a 10 minute drive from the house . A tour bus stops right outside the church (next to the property) on which you can take a guided tour of Chester .
