Overview

Griffith University Village provides contemporary, fully furnished five bedroom apartments and single bedrooms on Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus. Located in Southport, the Village is only a twenty-minute drive or direct bus ride to the internationally renowned beaches and theme parks of Surfer’s Paradise.

The Village is designed to offer a contemporary, urban living environment set amongst Southport’s native landscape. Electronic swipe cards offer quick and easy access to rooms and Village facilities while providing 24-hour security.

Take a short trip into the city centre and you will find yourself surrounded by attractions including beaches, boutique shops, bars, restaurants and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Food & beverage

Convenience store/coffee kiosk - the on-site convenience store and coffee kiosk offers a selection of basic groceries and essentials, including:

Newspapers and magazines
Phone cards
Gourmet coffees
Healthy smoothies
Fresh muffins and pastries
A daily choice of delicious specials

The convenience store and kiosk are open from 9am – 5pm weekdays during term time.

Communal kitchen - the communal kitchen is the perfect location for whipping up group meals. The kitchen contains a large fridge/freezer, gas cooktop, oven, microwave and basic cooking equipment, crockery and cutlery.

Vending machines – A number of vending machines are located throughout the Village, offering a range of drinks and quick snacks.

Grounds & Gardens

The Village is designed to offer a contemporary, urban living environment set amongst Southport's native landscape. A number of green spaces and seating areas are available.

Other facilities

Basketball court - the Village’s half basketball court is a great way to have some fun and shoot a few hoops.

BBQ – the BBQ area overlooks the swimming pool and is the perfect location to have a casual dinner after a busy day.

Business centre - the business centre provides access to wireless Internet, computers, printing and photocopying facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Additional costs apply for these services.

Internet - high-speed Internet connectivity is available in each bedroom and the wireless Internet can be accessed from hot spots around the Village. The Internet can be purchased after check-in. Charges apply.

Laundry - the laundry offers coin-operated washing machines, dryers and vending machines, and can be accessed 24 hours a day via security card.

Parking – limited on-site parking is available.

Recreation lounge - the recreation lounge features a flat-screen plasma TV with Austar (ideal for those late-night sporting matches), pool table, table tennis, couches, arcade games and plenty of reading material. It’s the ideal spot to unwind after a long day touring the Gold Coast.

How to find us

Griffith University Village is located in Southport and easily accessible by public transport.

The Village is approximately 35 minutes by taxi from the Gold Coast Airport and 55 minutes from the Brisbane Airport. Alternatively, Brisbane’s Airtrain runs from Brisbane Airport to Nerang station. From Nerang station, the Village is a 15-minute bus ride away.

Griffith University Village is a 10-minute drive from the centre of Gold Coast and 45 minutes to Brisbane.
