Hotel des Glaciers, Monêtier-les-Bains

Encircled by mountains, on the edge of the Écrins National Park, this relaxed alpine lodge is a 12-minute walk from the Jardin Alpin du Lautaret (gardens) and 13.9 km from the Valvital-Les Grands Bains du Monêtier (hot springs). It also lies within a 40-km radius of 3 ski areas and the Galibier pass is accessible by the road located just in front of the hotel.

 

Overlooking the valley and with mountain views, each chalet-style room is equipped with a private bathroom, satellite TV and a mini bar. Choose from double bedrooms, duplex suites which are split level and include a balcony and separate living area or apartments which is suitable for familes with double beds and bunk beds.

 

Cross-country skiing is available from the hotel and kite surfing lessons can be found nearby. An Alpine seasonal Museum is located just opposite the hotel.

History

This is a friendly family run hotel, the fourth & fifth generation of this family currently work side by side to give a thorough professional but friendly style service. 

Food & beverage

There are 2 restaurants on the premises:

Restaurant Pere Benzol : Open for dinner in the winter season, and by reservation 48 hours in advance in the summer season, Serving traditional mountain style meals with a table d'hote menu. An American Style Breakfast Buffet is also served in this restaurant.

Brasserie des Glaciers: Open for lunch in the winter & summer seasons, Dinner in the summer seasons by reservation (same day reservations possible). This restaurant serves more classic favourites such as salads, omelettes, pastas, pizzas and also traditional mountain meals

There are 2 half board options (breakfast & dinner): €50 per person (Restaurant Pere Benzol) / €35 per person (Brasserie des Glaciers)

Room service & packed lunches are available on request against a fee.

Grounds & Gardens

The Hotel is surrounded by the Parc Nationale des Ecrins. The Alpine Botanical Gardens are less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
