We are located in a very tranquil and picturesque location on the edge of the village of Trunch. We offer high quality accommodation and delicious breakfasts, with fresh local or homemade products.

We offer a choice of a suite, double or twin rooms with ensuite or private bathroom facilities. Single occupancy is also available. Each room affords splendid views: to the historic village of Trunch; towards the coast across the fields; to the setting sun across the undulating landscape.

If you are interested in self-catering holidays, we can offer you our recently renovated annexe, Pumphouse Cottage which offers high standard accommodation. This accommodation is also available as large B&B suite, comprising bedroom, bathroom, lounge and patio with garden. Please note, we require a three night minimum booking for Pumphouse Cottage.

History to the present day

The Manor House probably dates from the late 19th century. It is late Victorian, with lots of character and features, like the original fireplaces in all bedrooms, a stunning staircase, the original stained glass front door and fine Victorian floor tiles in the main hall.

It was originally built  for a wealthy farmer and his family and, until the early 1980s, it was "The Manor Farmhouse" in Trunch. By then, the owner decided to build a new manor farmhouse on the edge of the village, so that the old house got the name of "The Manor House".

All stables, haybarns and the piggery have been converted into beautiful dwellings. The Manor House is still surrounded by fields offering marvellous open views from the rooms.

Food and Drinks

Breakfast is served in the breakfast room between 8.30 and 9.30am.
You can choose between a full English, a fried Vegetarian or a Continental breakfast.

We are unable to offer evening meals but can recommend some excellent pubs nearby.

Grounds and gardens

The Manor House is surrounded by a mature garden, lots of trees and a large front lawn on which to sit in the sun or have a picnic.

Other facilities

There is ample parking. All rooms are centrally heated, and in the evening guests may use the reception room.

Arrival Info

Address: Brewery Road, Trunch, Norfolk, NorfolkNR28 0PU, United Kingdom

Check In: From 4pm, or earlier by arrangement. Check Out: Between 10.30 and 11.00am

Directions: Leave Norwich on the B1150 to North Walsham. At North Walsham, turn left at the first set of traffic lights to follow signs to Mundesley B1145. At the end of the village of Swafield do not take the right dog-leg to Mundesley, but go straight ahead to Trunch. In Trunch, pass the Church and turn left at the Social Club into Brewery Road. Just after the fish pond on the left hand side, turn right into a drive between the old farm barns, now converted into dwellings. You will see the Manor House at the end in front of you.

By train: Most mainline services to Norwich link up to the Anglia Railways service to Sheringham (The Bittern Line). Midway along the route are the stations North Walsham and Gunton, both of which are ideal for reaching Trunch. By prior arrangement we can collect you from either station.
