After a freshly cooked Scottish breakfast, you can explore the Borders countryside or take part in one of the many sports available locally including golf, fishing, sailing and stalking.
Boreland village is about 7 miles north of Lockerbie where there are good local amenities and a golf course. Lochmaben, about another 5 miles away, also has a golf course and some lochs, one of which offers sailing. If you head north from the village towards Eskdalemuir you can lose yourself in the wilds of the Borders, one of the emptiest landscapes in the UK. You could also visit the Samye Linge Buddhist Temple.
