Overview

The Old Chapel is a sympathetically converted Weslyan chapel in the heart of Cornwall, offering comfortable accommodation in spacious and superbly equipped rooms.

Based near the small town of Lostwithiel, which is Cornwall's ancient capital, there are a number of interesting antique and gift shops as well as coffee shops, pubs and excellent restaurants. Nearby are some of Cornwall's finest attractions including National Trust properties and Restormel Castle. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are also nearby and guided tours of either attraction can be arranged, with collection from The Old Chapel by your guide.

The Old Chapel has three rooms, all with ensuite showers and easy chairs. Each room is equipped with a modern LCD television, DVD player and tea & coffee making facilities, mints and chocolates.

Directions: In the village of West Taphouse lying beside the main road into Lostwithiel, the A390.

If you are entering Cornwall via the A30, leave that road at Bodmin and follow signs to Liskeard. After about three miles you will see a right turn for West Taphouse and if you take that road it will lead you up a steep hill and to a T junction on the A390. Turn right and after about 150 yards you will reach The Old Chapel on the right hand side.

If you come via the A38 you will enter Cornwall over the Tamar Bridge. Stay on that road for 15 miles until you reach a roundabout after the newly bypassed village of Dobwalls. Turn right here onto the A390 and after passing through East Taphouse and Middle Taphouse you will see The Old Chapel as the first property on the right in West Taphouse.
