History

Built in c.1883 the property retains many of its original Victorian features, despite being transformed over the years from 2 townhouses to a boarding house and later hotel with shared bathrooms and in its current format of a quality Bed and Breakfast with all en-suite rooms.  It is set in a conservation area, so the outside has remained largely unaltered since it was built.  

Food & beverage

The Sheldon does not have a bar or serve any meals except breakfast which can be booked for a small fee, however, the central location means there is plenty of choice of restaurants around, with up to 20% off with the discounts offered to guests.

If guests prefer to eat in, they may use a guest fridge and microwave in the guest dining area (available 5-8pm daily).

Grounds & Gardens

Alongside the free private car park, there is a small seating area for picnics or enjoying a chilled bottle of wine on a summers evening.  The promenade is at the end of the street and the start of Beachy Head is just a 20-minute walk or an open top bus ride away.
