Woolpack Inn, Chilham, Near Canterbury

History

The 600 year old Woolpack Inn is nestled at the bottom of the hill in the shadow of the Norman castle. With its vast oak beams and inglenook fireplaces it offers a glimpse into hospitality of yesteryear. The inn is said to be haunted by the Grey lady, a friendly ghost who wanders the main building.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served Monday - Friday 7.00am - 9.00am and Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays at 8.00am - 10.00am and consists of everything from a full English and continental to cereals and fruits. The Inn boasts a home-cooked menu with many of the ingredients being sourced locally. Fish comes off the boat in the morning and often is on the plate by lunch service.Visitors can indulge in the local real ale of Shepherd and Neame, the Faversham brewers, and toast with a pint of Spitfire or Masterbrew whilst sitting next to the open fire. If eating in the restaurant there is a wide range of wines with a choice to suit every occasion.

Grounds & Gardens

Three of the rooms have access to a small, private garden area which is great for families or an opportunity to just sit and unwind.

The stable block have a grassed area to sit and unwind.

Facilities for dogs available. Bike hire and picnics can be arranged.

Picking up from railways station and dropping off is no problem Taxi service into Canterbury or picked up from Canterbury.
Maps for walks through fantastic woodlands and rivers are available.
