The Cadogan Hotel is a 19th Century building steeped in history and character. It is a small family-run hotel offering a warm and sincere welcome with good service and accommodation. Newmarket is just a five-minute walk away from where you can catch the courtesy bus to the racecourse on race days.
Whether visiting Newmarket on business or pleasure you can look forward to a comfortable stay at the Cadogan Hotel.
In 1895 a gentleman of rather dubious nature knows as Gordon Chetwynd sold what was known as Rutland Cottage to the 5th Earl of Cadogan. The Earl numbered amongst his closest friends Edward Prince of Wales later to become King Edward VII. Rumour has it that the King himself was a frequent visitor to Rutland Cottage and was known to have entertained the beautiful Miss Lilly Langtry. Underground passages are said to exist between the Cadogan Hotel and the Kings Quarters at the Palace House.
A full English breakfast is included in the cost of the room. A quiet restaurant offers a range of international dishes.
The comfortable lounge bar area and the resident’s lounge with TV, Video and DVD player together with a library of books to read, borrow or exchange are popular.
Free Internet access via Wi-Fi connection is available throughout the hotel.
