Gilpin Mill has been a mill from the 1500’s to the end of the 19th century. Now, with a new mill house built for comfort and relaxation with oak beams, slate floors and open fires Gilpin Mill is a very welcoming and peaceful bed and breakfast run by Steve and Jo Ainsworth
It has three well appointed, en-suit bedrooms each with super king beds, flat screen tv’s and tea and coffee facilities. The bedrooms overlook the colourful, south facing garden and one overlooks the garden and the mill pond. There is wildlife galore to be seen in the garden and the pond; otters, dippers, kingfishers, salmon and sea trout. In the surrounding countryside there are roe deer, red deer and badgers to be spotted, not to mention all the bird life.
Guests are welcome to sit in the large, comfortable sitting room in front of a log fire in cooler weather, to read or watch the large flat screen TV. In warmer weather guests enjoy having breakfast on the terrace or, at the end of the day, sitting in the tranquil, colourful garden.
