Refurbished with soft furnishings of velvet drapes and blinds bring a warm cosy feel. The views from the front windows are of the front lawns, beyond a copse of trees with the steeple of the nearby 14th Century medieval church of St Mary’s.
A little bit of paradise and a quiet spot for someone wanting to get away from it all but close enough to the city and transport links. Fully fitted kitchen with washing machine/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave with matching 'bluebell' crockery.
The self-contained holiday cottage is next to the main house which together sits in just over two acres. It benefits from its own private garden, patio furniture and BBQ, bordered by tall fir trees and an apple orchard at the bottom. The dry stone wall is made from ancient flag stones, we think from the remains of the Benedictine Abbey opposite. On the back of one, the chisel marks of the original mason are clear to see. Do ask to have a look!
Set back from road, in a quiet semi-rural ‘Conservation Area’ next to 14th century church. The garden is visited by many types of birds: woodpeckers, skylarks, pheasants, robins, blue-tits and local pheasants. The bird song has been described as ‘God’s music’ its that special!. Country Walks: public footpath opposite the pub going westwards on the ‘Port Way’ for dreaming spires of Cambridge or take 'Wimpole Way' eastwards to the bluebell Hardwick Woods.
Transport: Cycle route from St Neots Road, down Madingley Hill, via Coton connects to Cambridge.
Regular bus service: 'Citi 4' at the Hardwick Turn.
Historic houses and Cambridge colleges, each with beautiful gardens. Nearby unspoilt countryside is ripe for exploring.
