Histoire

The house itself was once part of a coaching house and is where the owners lived with the upstairs rooms as guest rooms, just as it is now. When the house was sold off from the rest of the block it became a guest house in its own right and has been ever since. The house has been renovated and redecorated to reflect its history and style as well as being brought up to date with the requirments of modern living.

Restauration et Boissons

Jill and John offer traditional breakfast fayre including "Bamburgh Bangers" (award winning local sausage) and the famous Craster kippers.

The extensive menu includes vegetarian choices, healthy options and a huge choice of delicious breakfast dishes that reflect the quality and diversity of local produce.

Fish dishes are a speciality. Try Kegeree, Omelette Arnold Bennet, Salmon Fishcakes, Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs, Pancakes or Singin Hinnie or, of course, you can choose the more traditional bacon (from local butcher) and eggs (free range from Belford farm).

As an alternative to dining out we offer a cheese board for guests to enjoy in their room, in the dining room or in the courtyard, when weather permits. This includes local speciality cheeses and some of our favourites.

Espaces verts et alentours

We have a lovely walled garden and paved courtyard with plenty of garden furniture where you can find a quiet, sunny spot to enjoy afternoon tea, read a book or just relax with a glass of wine.

On the landing between the bedrooms is a large bookcase from where you can help yourself to a glass of sherry or Lindisfarne mead and a good book to read.
