History

Trastevere is the most popular district and one of the most characteristic of the city. The people of Trastevere consider themselves the most “authentic” among Romans. Romans themselves go to the numerous clubs and restaurants of Trastevere which are suitable for all tastes and pockets. Every Sunday morning, near Viale Trastevere, you will find the famous “Porta – Portese” flee-market. If you happen to visit this market remember that bargaining on the price is mandatory!

The closest train station is Trastevere, in less than 20 minutes on foot you can reach the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo, Campo de' Fiori, Largo Argentina, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Isola Tiberina, and the old Jewish ghetto.
