History

A family run enterprise which spans three generations of the Martalo family. Luigi and Rita Martalo have a long history of providing high quality service to their customers. They came from Italy and opened their first catering business in Hamilton in 1954. Their food quickly became popular and their business grew. In 1973 they diversified into the hotel trade, opening their first hotel. Their children became involved in the business and in 1981 the family also opened the Bothwell Bridge Hotel, Bothwell. Luigi and Rita still take an active interest in the running of both hotels and are proud that their children and their grandchildren are now actively involved.

Food & beverage

A full English breakfast is served in the Tiramisu restaurant between 7.00am to 9.30am, or guests can enjoy breakfast in the privacy of their room. Packed lunches and special diet menus can be arranged on request.

The restaurant and bar have an Italian menu offering a la carte, and there is a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Other facilities

Other facilities include a bar, 24-hour front desk, newspapers, garden, non-smoking rooms, rooms/facilities for disabled guests, safety deposit box, heating, luggage storage, all public and private spaces non-smoking, designated smoking area. The following services are available: room service, meeting/banquet facilities, Business centre, laundry, dry cleaning, ironing service, trouser press, Bridal suite, currency exchange and shoeshine.
