Overview

This London tour will take attendees on a street art-inspired stroll through the city’s historic Camden neighbourhood. Escape the main streets to explore the hidden stories being told by artists along the backstreets and thoroughfares — and see an alternative side to Camden not usually seen by tourists, or even locals!

Built around canals and boasting some of the capital’s best market stalls, Camden is a must-see for visitors who are looking to get familiar with the alternative side of London. The tour guide will take visitors off the beaten tourist track and experience the area as a local, finding out why the area is the fourth-most-visited neighbourhood in London; half a million people visit Camden weekly.

On this Camden tour, see great murals by some of London’s leading street artists, as well as pieces by international artists — all in all, attendees will take in more than 100 pieces of street art, and by the end of the tour will see Camden as a dynamic canvas where artists leave their creative marks. Learn how an art form that was once considered vandalism now creatively represents the personalities of cities all around the world.

This tour is for those who wish to see what is not in the guidebooks. The tour guide will show great art, the local neighbourhood, and the people of this city. Find out why London is a street art capital frequently visited by urban artists who are eager to leave their mark. Attendees will become familiar with graffiti terms and unwritten codes like the rules for painting over someone’s work, and what a ‘tag’ is. Learn how artists from all over the world can paint in London with the aid of ‘wall organisers.’ We will highlight the difference between street art and graffiti and explain how public art can benefit local communities.
