Overview

This 16th century Elizabethan Hotel is set in stunning grounds right in the heart of Hambledon village in the Surrey Hills; a stones throw from Guildford, Haslemere, Godalming and Chiddingfold, and just 55 minutes from Gatwick Airport, with seven luxurious bedrooms.

All bedrooms are very spacious and ensuite and decorated in individual styles, and furnished with period antique furniture, some from the "Great Exhibition" in the Victorian era. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, iron and ironing boards.

The area is steeped in history with many famous people choosing it as their launch pad to London. The composer Edward Elgar sought refuge during the war in nearby Petworth; the writer Aldous Huxley was born in Godalming and spent great amounts of time cycling and walking at Hindhead and around The Devil's Punchbowl, a place of immense beauty; Beatrix Potter had a holiday home near Guildford; Barnes Wallis who invented the bouncing bomb used during the Dam Busters raids lived nearby; the playwright George Bernard Shaw lived at Hindhead; the list goes on.

Within 20 minutes in any direction you have RHS Gardens Wisley, Petworth House, Lurgashall Winery, The Devil's Punchbowl at Hindhead, The North Downs; and right from the doorstep a plethora of footpaths and bridleways that disappear into the surrounding countryside.
