Holly Cross is at the south west of the campus, and overlooks the adjacent farmland. More than 100,000 visitors, guests and delegates enjoy the campus throughout the year at a variety of conferences and events, as Keele University is firmly established as one of the country’s top academic venues.
Situated within walking distance of Keele Village and offering regular buses from various points on Campus, into Newcastle Under Lyme (2 miles) which has a large shopping area, theatre, cinema, bars, restaurants and night life.

History to the present day
The land upon which Keele lies was gifted to the Knights of Templar by Henry I around 1160, as a reward for the services rendered in Normandy. Privileges given to the Knights of Templar were marked with the Templar Cross. The Cross lives on in the name of Holly Cross.
Food and Drinks
On Campus, there is a range of restaurants, including The Refectory, CB's Grab and Go and Chancellor's Café (Please note that out of term time, not all of the campus restaurant facilities will be open).
A short walk from campus takes you to Keele village where you will find the historic Sneyd Arms, a traditional English pub with all the favourites of pub food and local ales.
Grounds and gardens
Within the grounds, you will find the magnificent 19th Century Keele Hall with its rolling lawns, seven lakes and Italian gardens. The Hall is open to the public, serving refreshments, lunches and is available to host anything from small meetings to international conferences, award celebrations and family gatherings.
The gardens are a perfect place to take a stroll, to relax and unwind, read a book under a tree or enjoy a picnic.
Guest have use of the Common room, a launderette, bicycle storage, and recycling points. Guests have use of the numerous sports facilities including fitness courts and gym. The campus also has it's own post office, bank and various food shops.

From M6 Junction 15 or 16 head for Newcastle-under-Lyme. From Newcastle-under-Lyme follow signs for the A525 to Whitchurch; you will find the main entrance to the University on this road.
From the north: Leave the M6 at Junction 16 signed the A500/Alton Towers. At the motorway roundabout turn right onto the A500 for Crewe and Nantwich. The University is signposted from here and the journey time via the A500/A531 and A525 is about 20 minutes.
From the south: Leave the M6 at Junction 15 and follow the signs for the A519 into Newcastle-under-Lyme. The University is signed from the first roundabout.
From the west: Follow signs for the A525.
By Rail: For national train times and enquiries go to: www.nationalrail.co.uk. The nearest railways stations to Keele are:Stoke-on-Trent (5 miles/8km)
Crewe (12 miles/19km).
By Bus and Taxis: The number 25 bus leaves for Keele from a bus stop opposite Stoke station every 10-15 minutes during the day and less frequently in the evenings. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. A taxi from outside the station directly to the University will cost around £10 and the journey should take 15 -20 minutes.
By Air: Manchester Airport is nearest to Keele and is about 35 miles (56km) away. These are also within close proximity to Keele, Birmingham International Airport, East Midlands Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
