Overview

Hughes Hall is the oldest of the University of Cambridge's postgraduate colleges and is housed in a number of 19th and 20th-century buildings at the main site immediately adjacent to the University of Cambridge's Cricket ground.

Located next to the iconic Parkers Piece, Hughes Hall is a 10-minute walk from the railway station and 10 minutes walk from the centre of Cambridge. The college acts as an oasis of calm in the middle of the city, with the river Cam just 5 minutes away should you want to try your hand at punting.

The single en-suite accommodation is located in the Fenner's Building and the small double rooms are located in Gresham Court.

Basic, clean, fit-for-purpose and cost effective if you're visiting or settling in your child at Cambridge. Porters are super helpful, location next to Mill Road very convenient. ~15-20 min walk to city center. Best of all, the large single window opens into the most gorgeous and serene courtyard. I visited in late Sep, weather was lovely, and you get fat squirrels running around the courtyard and a few came right up to windowsill. Overall, enjoyed stay and would visit again.

Lovely stay, everyone so helpful and friendly. Of which I was nervous as a student studying and only staying for residential every 3 months, but was made to feel like I was part of the full time students staying! Incredibly easy to book online and seamless checking in and out process. I also drove and parked in the grounds, plenty of spaces and only £10 a day and night! Thank you for having me, I really hope to return for my next residential!

Nice clean room with all facilities needed, more comfortable than I had expected! Very helpful service from the Porter's Lodge. There was a kitchen available, although it would have been really nice if there could have been a kettle in the room.

Welcome really brilliant and helpful. Room basic but clean, comfortable and warm with opening window. We'll be happy to return - thank you.

Could have been an information sheet. Bigger bed. Good to have fresh milk and decent Teabags in clean kitchen. Porters very nice and helpful

All excellent, except that the milk provided for tea and coffee was out of date. The Porter was really kind and helpful
