概述

The Dial House Hotel demonstrates the best blend of old and modern to bring guests the ultimate country hotel experience. The Hotel is situated in idyllic surroundings and is built from the famous mellow Cotswold Stone.

Aside from the obvious beauty of the main building, the interior has been refurbished to a very high standard. The dining rooms are elegantly decorated providing the perfect backdrop for truly fabulous food which was recently awarded 2 rosettes.

Whilst children are welcome for lunch and dinner by prior request, the hotel does not accept children under 12 as residents.

历史

The Dial House was built in 1698 by local architect Andrew Paxford - his wife's initials are carved on the front of the building. Originally 'The Vinehouse', it was renamed after the large sundial above the front door in the early 19th Century.

Built as a private house, it was only in the last 30 years that it was bought and converted to a hotel. Throughout examples of its rich history are everywhere - low Cotswold stone arches, beamed ceilings, large inglenook fireplaces, poor boxes.

Bourton on the Water is full of old bridges and houses, but the Dial House remains the oldest building in this beautiful Cotswold Village.

With two recently refurbished dining areas both with very comfy, cosy, relaxed dining options, experience the new menu with traditional English fayre and a twist of the Mediterranean.

Dial House Hotel also serves breakfast and Sunday Lunch for both hotel guests and those who are in the village. In addition, locals and guests alike can also enjoy a drink in the lounge area.

Like the rest of the hotel, a huge amount of care has been put into restoring the garden and making it an oasis to retreat to. The old summer house on the top lawn has been renovated. This is a perfect place to relax on a rainy day with a hot cup of tea. It can also be booked for dinner for a private romantic occasion.

The hotel has invested in very high-quality garden furniture so that the dining experience can be taken outside with no lack of comfort or quality.

The Dial House Gardens are walled all the way around and are one of Bourton's best-kept secrets, a true haven of peace and tranquillity.

Some of the rooms have free wireless internet access and all residents can gain access to the internet wirelessly from the lounge.

The elegant sitting room is for the sole use of residents in the hotel and guests dining in the restaurant. When planning the refurbishment key emphasis was, as always, on high-quality fabrics and beautiful wallpapers. It is equally charming and cosy at the height of summer as it is in the depths of winter when the fire is roaring away.

Bourton-on-the-Water is on the A429 between Northleach and Stow-on-the-Wold, North of Cirencester. It is within easy reach of the M5, M4 and M40 Motorways

Directions: Leave the M5 at junction 11a, then at Brockworth Roundabout take the 1st exit and merge onto the A417. At the Air Balloon roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A436. At next roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A436, then at next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A436. At traffic signals turn right onto the A40. At roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A429. Turn right onto Lansdowne Road, then bear right onto the High Street

The nearest railway stations are Kingham (5.6 miles), Shipton (7.1 miles) and Moreton-in-Marsh (8.4 miles).
