Überblick

The Riverside Hotel is situated in the heart of the historic market town of Kendal. The hotel has 47 en-suite bedrooms all with views of the River Kent.

The hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing within the Lake District - Lake Windermere being a 15 minute drive away.

The Sanctuary at Riverside Hotel is an award winning leisure club with heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and professional gym - the ideal place to unwind.

Geschichte

This dramatic property on the River Kent dates back to 1626 and was home to renowned makers of leather for 250 years. Today our newly modernised 47 bedroom hotel offers you the ideal blend of comfort and convenience, right in the heart of Kendal. Use us as a base to explore the Lakes or indulge yourself in our choice of restaurants, our bar overlooking the river and our superb new state of the art leisure facilities. All of our bedrooms present a high level of comfort with well appointed ensuite bathrooms and a full range of modern facilities including satellite TV. For that special occasion we have the magnificent Bellingham suite. We have several spacious family rooms and dogs are also welcome (at no extra charge). However you choose to spend your time with us you can be sure of great service and a friendly greeting. Settle down in our lovely restaurant which enjoys views of Kendal Castle and the River Kent. Our specialities make the most of produce supplied by our own kitchen garden and farm. Kendal “The Gateway to the Lakes” is the County town for South Lakeland and has the best shopping in the area, all within walking distance of the hotel. And yet we are within easy driving distance of all the attractions of the National Park.

We have our own kitchen garden, which supplies as much quality fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs as we can, all grown using organic principles.

We rear our own free range Middle White Pork and Herdwick Lamb and take great care over our suppliers.

Cumbria is world famous for it's beef and lamb, reared in our lush green hills. Our suppliers offer complete traceability and give a guarantee of flavour and tenderness.

Directions: Leave the M6 at Junction 36. Follow the dual carriageway signposted for Kendal and take the first exit for Kendal town centre. Join the one way system along Highgate. Turn right into Lowther Street and continue on the one way system. After passing the bus station on your left, turn right at the traffic lights into Sandes Avenue. Go over the bridge and past the Peugeot Garage, then get into the right hand lane to turn right at the mini roundabout. Keep going right past the County Hotel into Wildman Street. Just before the bridge, turn right at the zebra crossing into Beezon Road and the hotel is on your left.

From Windermere: Follow Windermere Road into Kendal past the County Offices. At the traffic lights turn left into the one-way system along Sandes Avenue and past the Peugeot Garage on your left, then get into the right hand lane and turn right at the mini roundabout. Keep going right past the County Hotel into Wildman Street. Just before the bridge, turn right at the zebra crossing into Beezon Road and the hotel is on your left.

Nearest Train station is Kendal.
