Overview

Situated yards from the Seafront and the Beach, No.16 offers Boutique, room only accommodation close to all amenities.
Seaham seafront is a bustling row of cafes’ bars and restaurants facing the famous statue of Tommy, Seaham’s tribute to soldiers of WW1.

Originally built in 1857, No.16 is an early Victorian house, originally commissioned by Lord Londonderry for the first Manager of the new Seaham Colliery. It has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment. All rooms are beautifully decorated with new bathrooms, Wi-Fi, 4k HD TVs and period style sash windows.

We offer a Room Only service, There are many cafes just a few minutes walk away that offer breakfast. Local pubs and restaurants offer evening meals.

No.16 is situated at the start of The Durham Coastal Footpath - an 11 mile walking route from Seaham to Crimdon following the England Coast Path National Trail – discover grasslands, magical coastal denes and uncover the rich heritage that has shaped this coastline.
Our coastline is unique – nowhere else in Britain has such a display of Magnesian Limestone Coastal Grasslands supporting an array of wildflowers. The orchids, sound of skylarks and lapwings in summer are a treat to the senses.
The coastal denes support some of the most natural woodland in North East England and provide a valuable habitat for deer, foxes, badgers and bats. Woodland floors are seasonally adorned with wild garlic, bluebells and snowdrops, with birdsong echoing through the mature and elegant oak, ash and yew trees.

Seaham beach is the UKs best beach for collecting Sea Glass with collectors from across the world visiting us at No.16, to scour the sand for sea polished brightly coloured glass.

Seaham is an ideal base for visiting the beautiful city of Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle and anywhere on the North East coast.
