There are 10 beds in 6 single rooms, a few of which can be turned into doubles. Both men and women are welcome. Baths are not in the rooms, but are located right outside the rooms and can be turned into private baths.
The Centre was donated to the sisters of St. Clare by a local woman as a Thanksgiving gift in the 1930s. The sisters converted it into a boarding school and in more recent years, into a prayer centre. The sisters offer hospitality for guided retreats to individuals and groups as well as a venue of relaxation in their tranquil, peaceful home.
Breakfast is always provided. Other meals are provided only to those participating in an organized retreat. Guests have to purchase the rest of their meals in town.
The Centre’s pretty grounds overlook the sea, the village green and the 12th-century church of St. John. A ten-minute stroll from the Centre ends at Newton Beach and a Glamorgan Heritage Coast path. This walk allows exploration of some of Southern Wales’ most spectacular coastline and countryside including the splendid sand dunes of Merthyr Mawr that backdrop the beach. This area is popular with walkers, horseback riders and windsurfers.
Towels and linens are supplied. There are conference and meeting rooms, a chapel and large parking lot.
