The Mansion House is thought to have been built as early as 1681, although its style is that of the Queen Anne period (1702-1714). It's best known as the birthplace of Sir Norman Angell,
the Nobel Peace Prize Winner of 1933 who was born in the house in 1872. The Blue Plaque to the right of the door celebrates this famous man.
