I was particularly impressed with the communication when there was no hot water, and when it was fixed. My room was directly opposite Sainsbury's Air conditioning outlet, so was quite noisy (as I had to keep the windows open because of the heat) but that was just unfortunate - so not a complaint. What a lovely experience! We had breakfast in the Great Hall . Without exception the staff from porters to servers were friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone but those with mobility issues would struggle. Liddell Building (Christ Church), Oxford

Despite a long flight of stairs the room was spacious and had an ensuite bathroom which I wasn't expecting in a University room. The buffet breakfast was good with vegetarian and vegan options. Durham Castle, Durham

Staff were helpful, but the room and breakfast were basic. The toilet was at the end of a corridor, the shower downstairs. Suggest pricing for top floor rooms on A staircase should be reduced. Mansfield College, Oxford
