Histoire

Bronllys Farm was built in the mid 19th century as the estate manager's home for the Cilymaenllywd estate just across the narrow valley,which is now a nursing home.

Local legend says that the writer Dylan Thomas spent regular time here as he was in an affair with the daughter of the estate!

A smugglers tunnel from the old harbour quay emerged in a small wood besides the main house. It is now blocked and full of debris but no doubt was the site of some risky adventures.

Apparently, the mother of Queen Elizabeth once arrived here with her entourage having missed the turning to Cilymaenllwydd House!

The property has not been a working farm for many years, has been extended several times and since 2004 been developed with self-catering accomodation.

Restauration et Boissons

Bronllys Farm is full self-catering but you will find some complimentary welshcakes on arrival and have the option, when available, of purchasing some farm fresh, free range eggs.

There are numerous supermarkets within a short drive and takeaways, cafe's and restuarants to suit all tastes and budget. Many takeaways will deliver and you will find several menu options in your unit.

Espaces verts et alentours

The grounds of Bronllys Farm afford spectacular sea views from benches and the BBQ/picnic area.

It is just a 5 minute walk down the hill and across the main road to the Milennium Coastal Park, a beautifully landscaped 13 mile stretch of coastline, formally full of heavy industry.

Public footpaths adjoining the property weave their way inland through fields and woodland.
