St Aidan's College, Durham

This first visit to the beautiful and friendly city of Durham was very much enhanced by my accommodation in the St Aidan's College. A pleasant walk from the railway station, friendly greeting by the 'College staff on arrival, nice clean room - with lovely view of gardens - and a really fantastic selection of breakfast foods. Intend to make, at least one, return visit.

We (+70) enjoyed the breakfast conversations with so many visitors from all over the world, young and old, either attending summer classes or having a re-exam. The location is ideal to leave your car behind and visit the city center, the Botanical Garden and the Oriental musuem by foot.

The staff at this college were exceptionally friendly and willing to accommodate my needs. I felt the breakfast was quite good, as were the standard of the rooms, but it was the staff that I will remember the most from my stay. Thank you.

Very helpful, friendly staff at St. Aidan's. It would be useful to be able to book a twin room - on the website there was only the choice between single and double. Will definitely use the service again.

If you are looking for a base for your break, this is ideal. 20min walk to the centre of Durham (Castle,Cathedral, university and all). After a large cooked breakfast, up to exploring further afield!

Eight of stayed at St Aiden's during the Durham Miners' Gala and found everything about the accommodation to be more than satisfactory. We'd all be delighted to stay there again.
