Set in an ivy-covered stone building, The Red well Inn is located in the historic market town of Barnard Castle. Here you will find Barnard Castle which was begun soon after 1093 on a site above the River Tees. For the golf lovers, Barnard Castle golf course is just 100 metres away. Within a 25 minute drive you will find High Force Waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in England. Also within a 25 minute drive you can find Egglestone Abbey and Raby Castle.
We are close to the Pennine Way, a national trail that runs along the rugged backbone of England and offers 260 miles of the finest scenery. We are also only an hours drive from the Lake District.
Barnard Castle holds a weekly market and a monthly farmers market on the first Saturday of each month in the town.
