Ty Cooke is an ideal base for exploring the Wye Valley and Vale of Usk, Blaenavon World Heritage site and Big Pit.Walk or cycle the Monmouthshire Brecon Canal with Goytre wharf being half a mile from the farm.
Drive through the Black mountains to the book town of Hay-on-Wye famous for its literary festival, and admire the Brecon Beacons from Hay Bluff. You can even climb Pen-y-Fan.
Abergavenny is a 10 minute drive and boasts weekly markets.Sugar Loaf mountain overlooks the town with stunning views of the area. Abergavenny is also a Foodie area with its famous Food Festival held in September.There are many pubs and restaurants nearby including The Hardwick run by Stephen Terry, The Walnut Tree and the Angel famous for its afternoon teas.
Some main attractions within a 10 miles of the farm include Roman Caerleon, Tredegar House (national trust) Raglan castle and Big pit.
Activities include sailing and fishing at Llandegveth Reservoir, local golf courses, the dry ski slope at Pontypool, hang gliding and cycling with cycle hire available locally.
Cardiff which hosts many sporting events such as International rugby, football and International Speedway is 35 minutes by road or rail.
Visit the castles at Raglan, Caerphilly with its moat, Castle Coch, Chepstow and the amazing Tintern Abbey.
