Downing College, Cambridge

Everything was perfect! Booking easy and clear; grounds lovely; all staff extremely helpful; room and kitchen very clean. Belinda extremely kind. Our only recommendation would be to have basic details available; ie..bus number details ( when we asked what bus number we take to get to the train station, the porter room staff did not know;, restaurant recommendations in relation to various types i.e. Thai, Indian, Italian , etc…I appreciate the staff may not be allowed to recommend favourites.

Room, amenities, etc all fine. Location lovely. But particular note must be taken on the exemplary staff throughout my stay (part of the IP Law week, so my stay at the location was from Sunday through Friday). Consistently attentive and friendly service, staff who were problem solvers, and the highest quality food and drink throughout. Downing College is surely a draw, but your staff made the stay as pleasurable as it was, and I hope you feed this back to them.

I've stayed in college accommodation a few times in Cambridge. The Downing accommodation was by far the best - high standards of comfort, cleanliness, a full size double bed, good size bathroom, good desk and wardrobe space, tea/coffee and wifi facilities. The staff (porters and cleaners) were also all really welcoming and friendly. I would book a room a Downing again, not only in preference to other colleges, but to nearby hotels as well.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Downing College which is in a great position close to the centre of town and several other colleges. The arrival process was very easy and the porters friendly and helpful. The room itself and the ensuite bathroom were very clean. Very comfortable bed ! would definitely stay again

Thoroughly enjoyable - excellent room and facilities, clean and very comfortable and quiet in beautiful very large gardens and grounds. Friendly from first contact with porters' lodge, breakfast staff. Highly recommended!

Friendly help from the porters while booking in and out, spotlessly clean room with everything we needed and a great location for getting around in the City. We would like to stay here again sometime.
