Visão geral

O Sidney Sussex College tem o prazer de oferecer acomodações limpas e simples no ambiente histórico único de um colégio tradicional no coração de Cambridge. Uma localização ideal para explorar as muitas atrações de Cambridge, incluindo o Rio Cam, o Cambridge Corn Exchange, museus, centros comerciais e mais de 50 restaurantes. Tudo a uma curta distância a pé do Sidney.

Os quartos estão localizados dentro do campus da faculdade, em Blundell Court, Garden Court, Cloister Court ou Sussex House. Há também quartos a uma curta caminhada de 5 minutos, em Sidney House e Cromwell Court.

A maioria dos quartos possui lavatório e você receberá toalhas e sabonete. Os quartos standard são compartilhados entre 4 ou 5 pessoas, a menos que você esteja em um quarto com banheiro privativo. Todos os quartos possuem comodidades para preparar chá e café, acesso à internet e são limpos diariamente pela equipe de limpeza.

História

Founded in 1596 Sidney Sussex is a very well-kept secret - whether it is Elizabethan brickwork, charming Cloister Court, the haunting Chapel, exquisite Rococo Hall, medieval cellars or beautiful ancient gardens - they all lie behind a rather self-effacing wall of Roman cement. Sidney's history is an even better-kept secret including the precise point at which Oliver Cromwell's head is buried.

Terrenos e jardins

Sidney Sussex has two outstanding courtyards surrounded by Grade I listed buildings dating from 1596. The small and friendly atmosphere of the College can be sampled in the Fellows' Garden and Cloister Court where guests can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet in magnificent surroundings.

The College is unable to offer parking on-site, however, the Grand Arcade and Grafton Centre Car Park are available a short distance from the College. Further details please contact the College.

We had a great stay, we did not expect a breakfast with só much choise. Very helpful porter when we arrived early. We were pleasantly surprised by the little 'welcome'box with toiletries In the middle of the town centre, everything we wanted to see within walking distance And feeling like students...... the best: the key to open the door in the big entrancegate. Who would not like to see what's behind the walls!

Standard accomodation as usual, no hotel comfort, but acceptable. It includes an incomparible experience in premises, that have a great history. The central situation provides easy access to visit the city. Overall Sisney Sussex College can be recommended.

Comfortable students room looking out onto the garden. Very quiet even though the window was open on the catch which kept the room cool. Excellent full English breakfast, there were other choices too.

Was not told that Sunday breakfast was served in main hall so 1 of us missed out on breakfast as she went to usual venue. Otherwise v helpful friendly staff. Quiet location. Comfy rooms .

Our stay was excellent. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The breakfast was disappointing insofar as there was no serious continental option (i.e. cheese and/or ham).

Food was excellent. Very conveniently located. No aircon and very hot. Rather noisy outside but this did coincide with a late England football game.

Despite the heat in the room throughout the day and night, we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you for the cold water in the fridge.

Rooms are available to check in from 2:00pm on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, guests are required to vacate bedrooms and return keys to the Porters' Lodge by 10:00am to enable the rooms to be serviced for incoming guests.

Guests should check-in at the Porters' Lodge at the front of the College (opposite Sainsbury's on Sidney Street).

The Porters' Lodge is open for check-in and check-out between 06.00am and 9.00pm. If you are due to arrive outside of these times, please contact the Porters' Lodge to confirm your arrival. 

The main gate by the Porters' Lodge is closed at 9.00pm. 

Please note that, despite their title, College Porters do not carry guests' bags.

The railway station is approximately 25 minutes walk from the College. Bus and taxi services are available outside the Station entrance.
