História

The fifth oldest College of Cambridge University, Trinity Hall was founded by Bishop William Bateman of Norwich in 1350. This stunning venue holds many architectural treasures and historical artefacts dating back to Medieval times.

Nestled between Clare and Trinity Colleges, Trinity Hall lies beside the River Cam in the centre of Cambridge. With its gardens, architecture and riverside position, Henry James said of it, “If I were called upon to mention the prettiest corner of the world, I should draw a thoughtful sigh and point the way to the gardens of Trinity Hall.”

In the early days of Oxford & Cambridge Universities, the term college only referred to the group of students who lived within a Hall. Later on, it became fashionable to adopt the name College instead of Hall. However, by the time this became fashionable Henry VIII had created his own Trinity College next door leaving Trinity Hall no option but to remain as Trinity Hall.

An excellent stay right in the middle of historic Cambridge. All the porters friendly and helpful, including allowing us to leave luggage with them. Sharing a bathroom was no problem - it was right outside our door and shared between 3 rooms. If in use there's one on each floor, so can nip up or down stairs. The college provides dressing gown and slippers. Trinity Hall is one of the smaller colleges, but very pleasant and well placed for the Backs as well as the main colleges.

Porters were lovely and very friendly. Room was as expected -student room with shared bathroom. Provision of a dressing gown and slippers was a lovely touch to give that bit more comfort going between my room and the shower. Room was in a beautiful historic part of the college, very convenient for my event at a nearby college

Our double room at Trinity Hall had been mistakenly allocated by the college as a single. As we arrived after the admin office had closed, the porters had to try to prepare a room for us at short notice. Whilst they did a stirling job it left us somewhat rushed in changing for our formal dinner.

Absolutely stunning. The River Cam at the bottom of the garden was an unexpected delight. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Stunning buildings and beautiful gardens. Robes and slippers, toiletries were a bonus. Thankyou to all involved. We had a great time. We shall definitely come back.

Very nice student room, recently renovated with bathroom and kitchen on same landing. Very quiet and comfortable. Only issue was that breakfast was not offered, so had to get my own at Shelly and Sarah's in the market place (which I recommend for al fresco breakfast)

Great room. Clean. Inexpensive. Shampoo etc provided as well as a gown and slippers for the (very) short walk to bathroom. Service from the porters was friendly and super helpful. Excellent stay

I really loved my 3 night stay at Trinity Hall. The location, the college itself, the gardens, the room, the people at the reception. Everything seemed to be working excellently.

The room was spotlessly clean. The porters of Trinity Hall were very helpful and very friendly. A good stay.

Would've been nice to have crockery cups rather than paper coffee cups for tea/coffee
