Nearby is the village of Cartmel with its shops and 11th century Priory. Horse racing takes place here at the May and August bank holidays. Many attractions take place during the year, Holker Hall Garden Festival,Cumbria Steam Gathering,Dales and Lakes Historic Vehicle Show, Grange Edwardian weekend and weekly brass band concerts in the bandstand park.
Birchleigh has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, all rooms have en suite facilities with double walk in showers. Complimentary toiletries are provided. There are well stocked hospitality trays with fresh milk provided daily. All rooms have flat screen TVs, hairdryers and free Wi Fi. An iron and ironing board is available.
