Eoin Fairgrieve is a World Team Speycasting Champion and widely regarded as one of the world's leading speycasting instructors. At the age of 24, Eoin became one of the youngest ever instructors to qualify in both the AAPGAI trout and salmon disciplines and has been professionally teaching fly casting and fly fishing for almost twenty years.
Eoin began working as a salmon guide on the famous Makerstoun beat of the River Tweed in 1988, before starting up his teaching practice in 2001 to concentrate on casting instruction and education on the Tweed system.
He specialises mainly in teaching modern speycasting techniques in a relaxed and friendly environment at his Centre of Excellence located in the Scottish Borders.
All fly casting instruction will take place at Eoin Fairgrieve's teaching centre based at the Roxburghe Lake and the Sunlaws beat of the River Teviot. The client or clients are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before the lesson is scheduled to start to allow short transit time to either the river or the lake. Each session will be two hours in duration with the morning sessions from 10am to 12pm and the afternoon sessions from 2pm to 4pm. If the client/clients request additional instruction at the end of the session, this will be charged on an hourly basis at £40 per hour. The client/clients are expected to supply their own waders and outdoor clothing, but all safety equipment and appropriate tackle can be provided by the teaching centre. All clients must wear clear safety glasses or suitable sunglasses as eye protection during the instruction period.
