Florence Nightingale was deeply attached to Lea Hurst, the family's summer home, writing that "it breaks my heart to leave Lea Hurst". It is easy to see why. The house sits in a magnificent position, on the edge of the village of Holloway, overlooking the Derwent Valley, a World Heritage Site on the edge of the Peak District National Park.
The house has been lovingly furnished with many elegant period pieces and Nightingale artefacts, whilst also retaining the genuine warmth and comfort of a family home.
Each of our 4 historic Suites enjoys beautiful views over the surrounding countryside.
READY TO WELCOME GUESTS FOR POST-LOCKDOWN BREAKS!
We are looking forward to opening the doors of Lea Hurst to guests from July 4. Mirroring Florence Nightingale's unrelenting focus on cleanliness and hygiene, we have striven to ensure that Lea Hurst provides a totally safe environment for our guests.
Each bedroom and all public spaces are meticulously cleaned before, during and after guest visits, so that all guests can stay with complete confidence in the safety of their environment. The layout of our spacious and airy home facilitates social distancing, with multiple reception rooms and separate areas for dining by request. Guests can also take advantage of Lea Hurst's spectacular gardens and various outdoor seating areas during their stay
